The E-M-T Theory
- There exists 3 personalities essential to the success of any endeavour. They are:
- The Entrepreneur
- The Manager
- The Technician
- A healthy mix of all three is essential for your new startup/business venture/anything really to not go to shit.
- The Entrepreneur in you always dreams and schemes, the manager in you is constantly attempting to keep things as they are, and the technician in you drives the other two crazy. Your life depends on attaining a balance between these 3.
- The Entrepreneur lives in the future, the manager lives in the past, and the technician lives in the present.
Entrepreneurial Seizure
- That pull you get when you realize that no one can do this job as well as you and you’d be better off starting your own venture
- The problem with this is, suddenly you go from being good at one thing to being bad at a lot of things + being good at one aspect of the business.
- A baker thinks she can handle her own bakery, so she starts one, only to realize she is bad at handling the taxes, finances, marketing, customer service, maintenance, etc.

- You try to regain control of those tasks back from the delegates.
- Taking over too many delegated tasks will lead to burnout again, quickly
- Reason: The manager took over too much control and responsibility
- Solution:
