A while ago I saw this concept of a “Failure Resume” be implemented in Jacky Zhao’s digital garden, which I found to be probably the single most inspiring thing I’ve seen on the internet. I gave this a lot of thought. Broadcasting my failures to anyone and everyone who comes to my garden is not something I feel comfortable doing, at all. But, I still went through with it and made it anyway because of a couple of humble reasons:

  1. I have a problem with impostor syndrome. A list of my failures will remind me of what I did to get where I am and therefore make me feel better.
  2. I’d like to learn from these mistakes and try not to repeat them in the future.

2025

  • Rejected from a web3 internship (#4)
  • Didn’t manage to get even a shoutout for our project at the main stage at Hackathon - Devshouse ‘25. I should’ve been more rigorous when building the project and should’ve taken my sleep seriously. The pitch went awfully. We still did end up getting 5th place, after taking all metrics in account.
  • Didn’t manage to win the Aptos bounty offered at Hackathon - Hacknight ‘25. They ended up removing the prize offering altogether, so I guess it wasn’t actually my skill issue.
  • Was responsible for a rather unsatisfactory, unjustified sequel to the successful hackathon my club seniors conducted back in 2024 January. I could’ve done a lot of things better, especially taking up lead forcibly, much much earlier in the timeline. But I let my own hesitation and lack of agency hold me back.
